The BRCGS Global Standard Food Safety is recognized by the GFSI and the bodies are accredited under ISO/IEC 17065, which is product certification. Before the decision, a competent person, not involved in the audit, reviews the audit and its report, with annual recertification. The review must confirm the HACCP food safety plan follows the Codex, that the fundamental requirements are evidenced, that food safety culture is demonstrated and that the AA to D grade is defensible against the number and type of nonconformities, coherent with the audit protocol, announced or unannounced, and with the scheme reporting rules.
