Report review is the bottleneck before the certification decision.

IATF-recognized certification bodies review each audit and its report before the decision, under the IATF Rules. The Rules 6th edition, in force since January 2025, changed how audits run, with days by performance and risk and a 15-day response to a major nonconformity. Reports fail on evidence of the core tools, the link from the control plan to the FMEA, product safety, supplier management and meeting the response deadlines. The reviewer must confirm conformity with ISO 9001:2015 and the automotive requirements, with every finding tied to the right requirement.
