Report review is the bottleneck before the certification decision.

The FSSC 22000 scheme is recognized by the GFSI and the bodies are licensed by the FSSC Foundation and accredited under ISO/IEC 17021-1 and ISO/TS 22003-1. Before the decision, a competent person, not involved in the audit, reviews the audit and its report, and recertification is annual. The review must confirm the three layers are covered, the ISO 22000 management system, the sector prerequisite programmes and the FSSC additional requirements, and that the report is coherent with the scheme reporting rules. Reports fail on the validation of the hazard analysis, the fit of the PRPs to the category, the real implementation of the additional requirements and evidence of culture.
